@effigy, its not like you're going to need a constant sprint/rush >.>"
They're really only for canceling frenzy or to catch up for a bulls strike or something of the sort.

Here is the #1 reason that people hate mending, and especially they hate people that love mending:
These people use very limited cookie cutter builds, can't think for themselves, and give half-assed reasons for using the skills that they use. For example: nowhere in this thread is Watchful Spirit mentioned as a better alternative if you must be a W/Mo and must use a maintained enchantment to give you a false sense of security. -1 regen less and +110 heal when it ends (and when it gets shattered) for 5 more energy and HALF the cast time. And I'm not even trying to give you better skills, just better versions of the SAME kind of skill. With switching to a zealous weapon - and especially with hundred blades or cyclone axe, it's a better heal than healing signet even, at a faster activation time.
edit: No wait. A glimmer of hope; someone on page 7 mentioned it - well at least in a half literate manner :/. All is not lost for these forums; I think.

Have fun getting kited all day long. Warriors should have a speed boost most or all of the time if they're not currently in IAS.

I'm not really sure from your post whether you're for or against Mending. However, Watchful Spirit only gives +110hp if you have a fair investment in Divine Favor, in which case you probably wouldn't be using it anyway. With 0 DF (which is what a warrior would have) it only gives about +30hp when it ends. The real benefit of Watchful Spirit is that it gives you +2 health regen without spending any attribute points.

Why is there a 9 page thread discussing whether or not the use of mending in any type of serious situation is even remotely imaginable?

lol..
If you use healing breeze/mending to heal yourself it sucks.
If you use it to counter degen it rocks.
See? it's that easy lol...
As for monks.. you often see noob monks spam healing breeze and their energy is at 0 in 5 seconds(actually most of the noobs can't change the casting target that fast but whatever). But if a monk use it to counter degen it's alot better..
Btw don't let your heroes use healing breeze, they do it in the noobish way.

The best way to "counter degen" is to just heal it. Just because you have negative pips doesn't mean you need a skill to give you positive pips. Heal Party is going to accomplish a lot more than Healing Breeze or Mending ever will against widespread degen pressure. And if you're talking abour degen on a single target, that's the easiest thing in the world to outheal.

what sad is you guys still discuss about this stupid skill 2 expansions later... who cares about mending... its lame lets get over that fact.. yes with high defense wammos can get a false sense of security as someone mentioned.... it was only good in conjunction with watch yourself and doylak signet but watch yourself got nerfed but the @ss... so its pretty much useless

WY only got nerfed if you have 0 Tactics. On a high specced warrior, WY is better than ever.

The main reason why I dislike mending is not even that it has a bad health per energy ratio (at 3 pips it's 18 health per energy; 90 per 5) but rather that most of the people using mending are often just rather bad players which I dont want in my group.
